The News from Year 1

Here is the news from Year 1!
First, next week will be a lot of fun. On Friday the third of June, there is the School Extravaganza - an afternoon of fantastic fun, with loads of games, barbecues, balloons and more!
Then, on Saturday the 4th of June, everyone in Year 1 is invited to Harry's birthday party - at the Mom and Kids Cafe11.30 - 1.30 pm (call Harry's mother on 13323498353 if you have any questions).

We had a visit from Nursery class. They showed us their face paintings!

Our potato plant continues to grow! Soon it might cover the wall!

In Science, we learned about animals that have very good hearing - like rabbits or bats.

We played a computer game to learn about flying as a bat, avoiding owls and catching insects by sense of hearing.

After this, we played a game where the children closed their eyes and tried to locate an "insect" by their sense of sound.

In PSHE we talked about making choices, and learned about healthy snacks.

In History, we learned about seaside holidays a long time ago. Here the children are roleplaying travelling before trains or cars.
